"Beauty is as beauty does"

…to hear, see, and read the reaction of the guest after creating “beautiful skin” and showing the best possible version of them, it’s probably one of the best feelings ever! When they compliment you while still in the chair and constantly looking at the mirror and seeing how beautiful they really are, it keeps me going. It’s an honor to hear so many people thank and recognize a talent that yes, can easily be learned, or like me, was unknown as a talent for so long and have been born with the natural skills by only learning by the eye. I have received so much encouragement and support <3 I couldn’t have asked for a better support team. My family, friends, co-workers, and guests. The fact that someone else can already see me with a successful future, my motivation and determination has never been stronger. Thank you Tracey Marie! I have this vision, in a couple of years from now, as I grow more and more in this world of art, I’ll be there. There as in reaching my ultimate goal. There as in “I made it”. There as in better than what I was. A Makeup Educator. I want to learn so much more! I want to study all of the different techniques. I want to know who’s the top makeup artist, I want to be far more advanced than anyone else will ever be. Soon enough, when I have my time and schedule set, I going to start making makeup tutorials and blog more. My artistic ability will never stop. Not even when I make it to the top. #ForTheLoveofMakeup

I spend my free time watching makeup/fashion tutorials on YouTube and do research. :)

So, great news :) in the past 2 months, I’ve been so busy and caught up with moving and finally getting a wonderful job! :) I am now working for Gene Juarez Salon & Spa as a Makeup Artist! Ahhhhh! I worked so hard for this opportunity and I’m very blessed for all the support I got! I do feel like I want to pursue my dream into making this into a career instead of just a side thing/hobby. But we’ll see where the road takes me :) Being an educator is what I have in mind too! Look out for more pictures of my work, I’m only getting better and better :)

Makeup has always been something I loved. I remember when I was young, I used to sneak into my mom’s room and play with her makeup, oh yeah, you bet she got mad! Haha. My cousin used to put makeup on me all the time, and I mean ALL the time, I loved the beauty of it. I started wearing makeup when I was in 6th grade just for fun and ever since then, my skills were getting better and better. Though before during my freshman and sophomore year, my makeup was just plain and simple - bronzer and eyeliner. I took Cosmetology and we learned a little about makeup and the different ways to apply it, I loved that course. I began watching YouTube beauty gurus almost everyday! I learned a lot from the videos and it inspired me to go all out with my makeup brush. Honestly, my skills have gotten so much better and I am much more confident at doing makeup on others. Before, I always hesitated because I didn’t want it to look bad since I wasn’t used to doing makeup on different types of face structures. So recently, my cousin had a wedding photoshoot. We all were going to do our own makeup until literally, all of the bridesmaids came to me and were like “you’re doing our makeup, so after you’re done”. I’m just sitting there like really? Jeez, we’re already late! Haha. I ended up doing their makeup beautifully! They all looked gorgeous and I actually enjoyed what I was doing. It was a great experience and it definitely boosted up my confidence :) This is something I really love to do and dream to be an expert very soon!
